How to connect Dropbox to Inwista
Hook Inwista up to Dropbox and every finished transcript and video export can land right where your team already works — in any folder of your Dropbox, updated automatically. Starting a project from a file that lives in Dropbox? Import it directly, without downloading it first.
Before you start
Connecting integrations requires a workspace administrator role and an active subscription (any paid Inwista plan). Personal, Plus and Business Dropbox accounts all work.
1. Connect your Dropbox account
Head to My workspace → Integrations, find the Dropbox card and click Connect. Dropbox opens a sign-in window:
- Sign in Use the Dropbox account where you want your files delivered.
- Approve access Review the permissions Dropbox lists and click Allow.
- That's it The window closes on its own and the Dropbox card shows Connected, along with the account email.
2. Decide where files land
Out of the box, Inwista creates a Inwista folder at the top level of your Dropbox and delivers there. If your team has an existing structure — say a shared client folder — open Manage → Choose folder and browse to any folder in your Dropbox; deliveries follow along.
Each project keeps its files in its own subfolder, named after the project. Re-delivering after edits updates the files in place, so the top of the folder always reflects the latest state. Want a paper trail? Leave Keep delivery history on and every delivery also stores a timestamped copy under revisions — and since Dropbox keeps its own version history of changed files on top of that, you're doubly covered.
3. Make it hands-off
Flip on Deliver new transcripts automatically and finished transcriptions appear in Dropbox in your chosen formats the moment they're done. Add Deliver video exports automatically and rendered videos follow the same way — Inwista becomes a quiet supplier to your Dropbox instead of a place you fetch files from.
For one-off deliveries, skip the switches: pick Dropbox in the Save to selector when exporting, and only that export is delivered.
4. Start projects from Dropbox files
In the new-project dialog, choose Dropbox under Or import from. Inwista's built-in browser shows your folders — audio and video files display their duration so you can pick the right clip at a glance. Select a file and Inwista pulls it straight from Dropbox on the server side; nothing is downloaded to your device.
Disconnecting
Open Manage on the Dropbox card and click Disconnect — deliveries and imports stop right away, while everything already in your Dropbox stays put. You can also remove Inwista from Dropbox's side at any time under Settings → Connected apps in your Dropbox account.
