How to connect Slack to Inwista
Stop asking "is it done yet?" — let Inwista tell the whole team. With the Slack integration, a message lands in a channel of your choice the moment a transcription finishes or a video export is ready, with a button that jumps straight into the project.
What gets posted
Inwista posts two kinds of messages, and you choose which ones you want:
- Transcript ready Posted when a transcription completes. Shows the project name, language and duration, plus the transcription settings used — glossary, speaker diarisation and temperature — so reviewers know exactly what they're looking at. The Open in Inwista button takes you straight to the editor.
- Video export ready Posted when a render finishes — project name, language, duration and the same one-click jump into the project.
The messages contain links, not files — your media stays in Inwista and your connected storage, and the channel stays tidy.
Connect Slack
From My workspace → Integrations, click Connect on the Slack card. Slack's own authorization screen opens:
- Pick the channel Slack asks where Inwista should post — choose any channel you're a member of, from #general to a dedicated #subtitles channel.
- Allow Click Allow, the window closes, and the Slack card shows which channel and Slack workspace it's connected to.
Choose which events post
Open Manage on the Slack card to find two switches: Post when transcripts complete and Post when video exports complete. A team that only cares about final renders can mute the transcript messages, and vice versa — both are on by default.
Changing the channel
The channel is chosen on Slack's authorization screen, so switching to a different one is a quick reconnect: Disconnect in the Manage view, then Connect again and pick the new channel. Takes about ten seconds.
Disconnecting
Click Disconnect in the Manage view and the messages stop immediately — nothing else changes, and your transcripts and deliveries carry on as usual. You can also remove Inwista from the Slack side under your Slack workspace's Apps.
