Recording and Configuring a New Project
Capture live audio directly within the platform. This guide walks you through recording speech, managing access permissions, and optimizing your transcription settings.
1. The Project Dashboard
Your workspace is organized into two distinct views to help you control file visibility:
- Private projects: Content that is exclusively visible to you.
- Shared projects: Content available to all members of your current workspace.
To start, click the + New project button in the top right.
2. Record & Privacy
Inside the modal, switch the toggle from File upload to Audio recording. Click the purple microphone button to begin recording. Once finished, you can listen to the playback or click discard to try again.
Shared vs. Private: Use the toggle at the bottom to set access rights before proceeding.
- Toggle Off: Keeps the recording confidential and private.
- Toggle On: Makes the recording immediately available to your team.
3. Configure Settings
Instruct Inwista on how to process your speech for maximum accuracy.
- Output Language: Choose from 70+ languages. If you want the subtitles to be in a different language than the spoken audio, simply select your target language here.
- Speaker Diarisation: Distinguishes between multiple voices. For the best results, manually select the exact number of speakers (2–6).
4. Refine
Calibrate Inwista's precision and writing style.
- Glossary: Link a custom vocabulary list to ensure correct spelling of names, brands, or technical terms.
- Temperature: Adjusts transcript fluidity. Lower values yield strict, verbatim text; higher values create smoother, more readable captions.
5. Select Format
Pick the visual subtitle style that best fits your target platform:
- Long and content-rich: Multi-line text blocks. Ideal for lectures, interviews, or deep dialogue.
- Short and concise: Single-line captions. The industry standard for YouTube and desktop screens.
- Extra short sentences: Vertical video optimized. Designed specifically for TikTok, Shorts, and Reels.
- Word by word: High impact. Flashes one word at a time to keep viewer engagement high.
